Marketing in the music: marketing music is getting music of an artist, producer out there to be known by public, getting radio airplay, exposure.
Music marketing is a resource which can help music artist to sell more music, get more people to their shows and make more money in the music business through download sales and ringtone sales. But still you get artists with good music and image but they are unknown to the public is it because of bad marketing from there record label? Is it the wrong marketing stragety? or the marketing departments fault? In South Africa there are very well known artists such as The Parlatones, Freshly Ground and Deejay Black Cofee to name a few these artists are well known internationally and why is that do they have good marketing stragety teams? Artists such as Deejay Cleo, Mandoza, Zahara are good artsists localy so what are they lacking for them to be internationally well known acts? For marketing is a process that can be learnt by anyone there are online cousres for music marketing such as http://www.musicmarketing.com/davidhooper.html that has a Music Marketing Course 101 that is availabel for anyone or is it the lack of  knowledge about such things? The South African music group Die Antwoord is big overseas than it did here in South Africa the group hashad sold out Tours,Album Sales sky rocket when signing to Interscope records, which shows that music  marketing teams in South Africa needs to see what they are doing  wrong and work on it to improve the South African music market and see marketing as a tool of importance and also view the influence of social media and what it can do as a marketing tool, as said by David Hooper "Music marketing is you living your music by doing whatever you do"
